James Lawrie and his wife Jean Greig, and their five children, came to Australia on board the "Kate"in 1849 and settled in the Hunter Valley in NSW. In 1857 they bought "Halton" and its across-the-river neighbour, "Combwell", on the Allyn River Road, north of Paterson. This map documents the extent of the properties and changes in property ownership during the years that members of the family lived there, as I have pieced it together with help from Jill Rodgers.
